“I thought long and hard about how to fit all my thoughts and feelings about this painting into one text. Because this painting is the most important, the biggest and the most complex painting in the series it deserved the most attention.
I had a thought which fired me up. I understood right away that this thought needed to be expressed as an idea on the largest canvas.
While I was working on this piece, it brought out in me an entire whirlpool of emotions. It was a fight. I laughed, cried, I got angry and I spoke to her…
I loved her and I hated her.
Sometimes I understood her, sometimes I couldn’t figure out what she wanted from me.
Sometimes I thought “She’s amazing!” and sometimes all I saw was her many shortcomings.
My eureka moment came when I realized that I wasn’t fighting with my painting, but with myself.
And so, one thought became an idea, the idea became a painting, and the painting brought about great changes in me. “Allow yourself to be yourself” that’s all this painting wanted to tell me. Thanks. I heard you.”
