WHAT'S BEHIND THE CLIFF?

The process of painting “What’s behind the cliff?” was like meditation. I was trying to recreate, on canvas, my abstract memories of a landscape from Vancouver Island.

"We were returning home on a beautiful highway. Rocks, mountains, bays, waterfalls, the ocean. I wanted to remember every single moment of this trip, so that, in 30 years, I could tell my children about my first visit with the island.
​
I remember a moment of unconditional happiness when, after one of the bends, I saw a beautiful cliff. As we approached it, with each succeeding meter, the view that hid behind the cliff opened up to us. And as soon as we rounded the cliff, we saw this wide, spacious and free panorama of mountains and ocean. It was the perfect ending to our engagement trip."
