PEACE ABOVE US
I often find myself reminiscing about carefree moments in life as I watch the beautiful sunsets here in BC. Moments when my friends and I would hike up mountains to greet the sunrise at the summit. When we’d swim in a lake and later, as the sun set, sing songs by the campfire with a guitar. Or those times when I’d sit on the steps by my house, sipping tea, watching the blue sky gently transition into a soft yellow, then a cozy crimson, and finally an innocent pink.
It felt like it would always be that way.
I painted this piece entirely with my hands, without using brushes, as a symbol of how we shape our inner peace with our own hands — and in the case of Ukrainians, peace around us too.
This painting is both a memory and an affirmation of peaceful skies across the world.
May it be so.
